Owaisi’s Warning: The BJP and RSS are Actively Killing the Constitution to Build a Hindu State

February 17, 2026 Off By Sharp Media

Asaduddin Owaisi has recently dropped a truth bomb that the Indian establishment is desperate to ignore. He stated clearly that the BJP and the RSS are systematically dismantling the Indian Constitution to pave the way for a theocratic nation. This is not just political rhetoric but a direct warning about the total collapse of secularism. Owaisi highlighted how the current regime uses symbols like the national song Vande Mataram as a loyalty test to humiliate minorities. He correctly pointed out that the Constitution begins with “We the People” and guarantees freedom of religion under Article 25. Yet today the state treats these protections as mere suggestions. By forcing citizens to adopt specific slogans the government is ending equal citizenship. Owaisi also lashed out at the move to honor V. D. Savarkar with the Bharat Ratna reminding the world of the Justice Kapoor Commission findings regarding the conspiracy behind the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi. This is the new India where the assassins are celebrated and the victims are labeled as traitors.

1. The Hard Numbers of Communal Warfare

The data backs up this terrifying reality because the violence is a calculated tool of political mobilization. The Ministry of Home Affairs and the National Crime Records Bureau have provided a glimpse into this chaos through their own records.

1.1. The Surge in Religious Rioting

Between 2016 and 2020 India witnessed a terrifying volume of communal violence. In 2016 official records show 869 registered cases of communal rioting. The states of Haryana with 250 cases and Jharkhand with 176 cases and Bihar with 139 cases were the primary battlegrounds. By 2017 the number remained high at 723 cases with Bihar reporting 163 cases followed by Karnataka with 92 and Odisha with 91.

1.2. The 2020 Spikes and the Delhi Pogrom

While rioting cases saw a slight dip in 2018 with 512 cases and 2019 with 438 cases they exploded again in 2020 with 857 cases nationwide. The most damning statistic comes from the capital because in 2020 Delhi alone reported 520 cases of communal rioting. This was a targeted assault on Muslim neighborhoods. Despite this bloodbath the Ministry of Home Affairs has told Parliament that the NCRB does not maintain separate data for mob lynching. By refusing to categorize lynching the state is protecting the killers and erasing the victims from history.

2. The Lynch-Mob Culture and Cow Vigilantism

Since the state refuses to count the dead independent monitors have documented the carnage. The results are a direct indictment of the majoritarian project.

2.1. Blood on the Streets: Cow-Related Violence

Human Rights Watch documented that between May 2015 and December 2018 at least 44 people were slaughtered by cow vigilante mobs and 36 were Muslims. There were over 100 recorded attacks across 20 states. The PRIF synthesis of IndiaSpend data shows that cow-related hate crimes rose from 3 incidents in 2014 to a staggering 43 incidents in 2017. Between 2014 and 2018 a total of 120 incidents and 46 deaths were recorded across the country.

2.2. The 2024 Lynching Statistics

The violence has evolved into something even more dangerous. The CSSS monitoring report for 2024 has already recorded 13 lynching incidents resulting in 11 deaths. These murders are concentrated in Maharashtra with 3 deaths and Uttar Pradesh with 3 and Chhattisgarh with 2 and Gujarat with 2 and Haryana with 2. Seven of these incidents were directly linked to cow slaughter accusations proving that the cow is now a weapon of war against minorities.

3. Psychological Warfare and Forced Humiliation

The project is not just about killing bodies but about crushing the soul of the community through public degradation.

3.1. Weaponizing Jai Shri Ram

Hate Crime Watch found that 13 incidents where victims were forced to chant Jai Shri Ram occurred entirely after 2016. Even more shocking is that 9 of these incidents took place in the two months immediately following the May 2019 election. This proves that electoral victories for the BJP act as a green light for mobs to reclaim the streets through terror.

3.2. The Foot Soldiers of the Sangh Parivar

Analysis of 254 religious hate crime incidents between 2009 and 2018 revealed that 83 percent were linked to Hindutva organizations. The Bajrang Dal was specifically named in 30 cases. These foot soldiers operate with total impunity while the police look the other way.

4. Physical Destruction and Collective Punishment

The government is now using administrative machinery to finish what the mobs started.

4.1. Bulldozer Justice and Punitive Demolitions

Amnesty International has raised the alarm over Bulldozer Justice. Between April and June 2022 the state demolished 128 properties affecting at least 617 people across Assam and Delhi and Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh. In February 2024 in Haldwani located in Uttarakhand the attempt to demolish a Muslim seminary and mosque resulted in 5 deaths and over 150 injuries.

4.2. The War on Churches

The Christian community is also facing erasure. During the 2023 Manipur violence the Archbishop of Imphal reported that 249 churches were burned. In 2024 the EFIRLC verified 640 incidents of anti-Christian violence. Uttar Pradesh with 188 cases and Chhattisgarh with 150 cases are now the most dangerous regions for Christians.

5. State-Sponsored Hate Speech and Global Isolation

The fuel for this violence is a massive hate-speech industry. The India Hate Lab 2025 report recorded 1,318 hate speech events targeting minorities across 21 states.

5.1. The Geography of Hate

The highest counts were in Uttar Pradesh with 266 and Maharashtra with 193 and Madhya Pradesh with 172 and Uttarakhand with 155. At least 276 speeches called for the destruction of mosques and churches. The VHP and Bajrang Dal organized 22 percent of these events.

5.2. International Assessment

The world is noticing the fire. The USCIRF 2025 report states that religious freedom has continued to deteriorate. It explicitly links BJP governance to sectarian policies seeking an overtly Hindu state. This confirms that Owaisi’s warning is a global reality.

6. The Point of No Return

From the 2015 Dadri lynching of Mohammad Akhlaq to the 2019 torture of Tabrez Ansari and the 2023 Manipur church burnings the timeline of modern India is a trail of blood. The data is undeniable because with thousands of rioting cases and hundreds of lynching deaths and over 1,300 hate speech rallies annually India is sprinting toward a theocratic abyss. Owaisi is right to warn that the Constitution is being set on fire. If the state continues to protect the mob and use the bulldozer as a gavel then the largest democracy will soon be nothing more than a historical footnote.
