Muslim Teachers Assaulted by Hindu Extremists in Delhi
July 23, 2024In Shakurpur, Delhi, Muslim teachers at the Joint Mentor of Discipline tuition center were physically assaulted by Hindu extremists. The attackers accused the teachers of forcibly teaching Islamic texts to students.
The violent incident led to severe injuries, particularly to head teacher Abrar Ali, who was hospitalized. Despite the assault, when the teachers reported the incident to the Subhash Place police station, the police registered an FIR against the Muslim teachers instead of the attackers.
Witnesses, including students and parents, stated that the allegations were false. They revealed that the conflict originated from a fee dispute between the center’s head and the parents of a Hindu student.
This incident highlights the growing religious tensions and the challenges faced by Muslim educators in certain parts of India. The unjust treatment of the teachers by both the attackers and the police underscores the need for a more equitable and just response to such conflicts.
