Kashmiris Outraged Over Continued Disempowerment by Modi Regime
June 12, 2024The Kashmiri community is expressing outrage over their continued disempowerment by India’s Modi regime, which began with the revocation of Article 370 in August 2019. This article had granted special status to occupied Jammu and Kashmir, and its removal has initiated a systematic process of political, constitutional, cultural, and economic disempowerment of Kashmiri Muslims in the region.
Since the revocation, the Modi regime has implemented sweeping legal, demographic, and electoral changes aimed at undermining the position of Kashmiri Muslims. These actions are widely perceived as violations of UN resolutions and international laws, as they appear to be attempts to alter the region’s demography.
Critics argue that the ultimate goal of the Modi regime is to eradicate the Muslim character of IIOJK and establish a Hindu civilization in the region. Arbitrary orders and actions by the regime have been met with resistance from the Kashmiri people, who vow to continue fighting against these measures.
Kashmiri leaders have called on the community to remain vigilant and united in the face of the Modi regime’s designs. They have warned that they will not tolerate any attempts to advance Hindutva policies in IIOJK.
The ongoing disempowerment of Kashmiris has sparked widespread concern and outrage. Many are calling for international intervention to address the crisis and ensure the protection of the rights and identity of the Kashmiri people.
