Kashmiri Lives Crushed Under Indian Militarization
December 1, 2024The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has exposed the grim reality in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), where over one million Indian troops have turned the region into a nightmare for its people.
APHC spokesman Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas declared that the Kashmiri people’s demand for their UN-recognized right to self-determination has been met with relentless oppression. The Indian regime’s tactics mirror Israel’s policy in Palestine, designed to expel indigenous populations from their homeland.
Minhas reminded the world that Jammu and Kashmir remains a disputed territory whose fate must be decided through a plebiscite as mandated by United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolutions. Despite its promises on international platforms, India has systematically reneged on its commitment to granting Kashmiris their fundamental rights.
The spokesman highlighted the unwavering spirit of the Kashmiri people, who continue to resist India’s brutal occupation despite unimaginable sacrifices. “These sacrifices are etched into history, and no force can erase them,” he asserted, emphasizing the people’s resolve.
Indian forces have intensified their siege and search operations in recent days, arresting dozens of Kashmiri youth and subjecting them to interrogation. Such actions have become a hallmark of the occupational regime’s strategy to crush dissent.
The APHC condemned these brutalities, exposing how the violent tactics aim to silence a population demanding justice. From arbitrary arrests to daily harassment, Kashmiris endure a life of fear and deprivation at the hands of the Indian state.
Minhas pointed out that without addressing the Kashmir dispute, achieving peace in South Asia is impossible. The APHC called upon the international community to stop ignoring India’s atrocities against defenseless Kashmiris.
The spokesman urged world powers and human rights organizations to intervene decisively, ensuring that India is held accountable for its actions. He emphasized that the resolution of the Kashmir conflict, in line with UNSC resolutions and the wishes of its people, is crucial for regional stability.
Despite the suffocating repression, the Kashmiri people remain resolute. Their fight for justice, dignity, and freedom continues unabated. The spokesman lauded their courage, reaffirming the APHC’s commitment to supporting their struggle until its rightful conclusion.
The international community’s silence on this ongoing tragedy is a stain on its conscience. Without meaningful intervention, India’s unchecked militarization will continue to wreak havoc on Kashmir’s people and peace in the region.
