A meeting of the US-based Kashmiri diaspora was held to discuss organizing a peaceful protest in the United States on August 5, 2024. This date marks the anniversary of the abrogation of Articles 370 and 35-A by the Indian government in 2019.

The global Kashmiri diaspora and the United Nations Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres, widely condemned this decision. The planned protest aims to counter India’s narrative that everything is normal in occupied Kashmir.

The protest will also rally support for the Kashmiri freedom movement. Despite India’s belligerent attitude and propaganda, the movement remains determined to fight for freedom with strategy and resolve.

The meeting was attended by prominent Kashmiri leaders, including Dr. Ghulam Nabi Fai, Sardar Zarif Khan, and Raja Liaqat Kayani. Dr. Muhammad, another attendee, provided an update on Sardar Zarif Khan’s health, who is recovering from thoracic spine surgery.

The protest is scheduled to take place on August 5, 2024, in Washington, D.C. The Kashmiri American community is urged to participate and support the cause. Prayers are requested for Sardar Zarif Khan’s full recovery.
