February 3, 2025Kashmir Solidarity Day 2025 is not just another observance; it’s a global call to action for the millions of Kashmiris suffering under Indian occupation, uniting nations to stand firm in their support for Kashmir’s right to self-determination.
As the world watches, Kashmir Solidarity Day serves as a powerful reminder of the enduring struggle for freedom in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). Each year, on February 5, millions stand in solidarity with the oppressed people of IIOJK, reaffirming their commitment to the region’s right to self-determination. This year, preparations for the day are in full swing, with events planned across Pakistan, Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), and abroad to mark this crucial occasion.
The observance of Kashmir Solidarity Day comes at a time of intensified repression by Indian authorities in the occupied territory. Political leaders, activists, and citizens across Pakistan and AJK, as well as Pakistani embassies worldwide, are organizing rallies, peace walks, and symposiums to highlight the dire situation in IIOJK. The focus remains on raising awareness about the human rights abuses faced by Kashmiris under Indian rule.
On February 5, Kashmir Solidarity Day will be marked as a public holiday in Pakistan and AJK, with numerous events set to amplify international awareness of India’s atrocities in IIOJK. The aim is to shine a spotlight on the Kashmir issue and demand justice for the victims of Indian oppression. Special prayers will be held for the martyrs of IIOJK, and mass rallies will take place, calling for a peaceful resolution to the ongoing crisis.
Posters of gratitude are appearing in Srinagar and other parts of the occupied region, thanking Pakistan for its continuous support. At the same time, these posters call on people to observe the day as Black Day, in protest against the ongoing Indian occupation of IIOJK. This demonstrates the deep solidarity felt by the people of Kashmir, who continue to resist oppression with courage and determination.
Internationally, the Embassy of Pakistan in Brussels is set to host a significant event to commemorate Kashmir Solidarity Day 2025. The gathering will include members of the Pakistani and Kashmiri diaspora, media representatives, and embassy officials. A powerful documentary will be screened, showcasing the human rights violations in IIOJK and the continued struggle for self-determination. This aligns with the stance of the United Nations, which has recognized Kashmiris’ right to freedom in its various resolutions.
In Islamabad, Pasban Jammu and Kashmir hosted a function to honor Kashmir Solidarity Day. Vice Chairman Abdul Rashid Butt addressed the gathering, commending the courage and spirit of Kashmiri youth engaged in the freedom movement. Butt reaffirmed the determination to continue the fight for IIOJK’s liberation from Indian rule. Additionally, the youth wing of Pasban Jammu and Kashmir was reorganized, with Muhammad Haseeb appointed as the General Secretary, strengthening the involvement of the younger generation in the struggle.
