Amid intensified military operations, the Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) condemns the ongoing harassment of Kashmiris and calls for global intervention to ensure the release of political prisoners.

The Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) has condemned the harassment and mistreatment of the people in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), which has escalated due to intensified cordon and search operations. These operations, including nighttime raids and arbitrary arrests, have created an atmosphere of fear among the local population. The party’s spokesperson, Advocate Arshad Iqbal, issued a statement from Srinagar, criticizing the increased military activity and the targeting of political activists.

According to the DFP, the surge in search operations and the increasing frequency of these raids are part of an effort by Indian forces to intimidate and suppress the pro-freedom movement in the region. The spokesperson emphasized that these actions are aimed at terrorizing the freedom-loving Kashmiris, who have long been advocating for their right to self-determination.

Despite the continued harassment, the DFP remains resolute. “Such wicked attempts cannot deter Kashmiris from pursuing their collective cause for the right to self-determination, for which they have made immense sacrifices,” said the spokesperson. This statement underscores the unwavering commitment of the Kashmiri people to their cause, despite the oppressive tactics employed by the occupying forces.

In addition to condemning the harassment, the DFP also expressed grave concern over the deteriorating health of its incarcerated chairman, Shabbir Ahmed Shah, and other Kashmiri political prisoners. Many of these individuals remain imprisoned in various Indian jails under harsh conditions. The party is calling for their immediate release, highlighting the humanitarian crisis faced by these political detainees.

The DFP urged international human rights organizations to take immediate action and press for the release of all political prisoners in IIOJK. The ongoing violations of human rights and the detention of political figures without fair trial have drawn attention from global human rights bodies, with the DFP hoping for a more substantial and effective response.

As tensions continue to rise in the region, the DFP’s call for justice and the immediate release of prisoners adds to the growing international concern about the human rights situation in IIOJK. The party’s condemnation of the oppressive tactics used by Indian forces aims to amplify the voices of those in IIOJK fighting for their rights.
