India’s Web of Lies Crumbles as Pakistani Prisoners Become Targets of State Repression

India’s launch of ‘Operation Mahadev’ in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) reflects the growing anxiety of the Modi government. After suffering serious military setbacks against Pakistan and facing mounting domestic criticism, New Delhi has again turned to staged encounters, propaganda, and media shows to hide its failures.

The Indian state has a long record of covering up failures through violence and disinformation in IIOJK, portraying innocent Kashmiris as “militants” and blaming Pakistan for every misstep. By pushing Operation Mahadev, the Modi government is playing with human lives to create a false picture of control and victory. This is not the act of a confident democracy but of a government fearful of truth and accountability.

From Sindoor to Mahadev: Deception Repackaged

The collapse of Operation Sindoor left India exposed before the world. Pakistan’s Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos not only downed six Indian fighter jets, including three Rafales, and dozens of drones, but also shattered New Delhi’s war narrative. Instead of accepting its defeat, India has relaunched the same failed script under a new name, Operation Mahadev, hoping that media spin can succeed where military power has failed.

This is part of a clear pattern. From Pulwama to Balakot, and Pahalgam to Dachigam, India has fabricated incidents to malign Pakistan and criminalize the Kashmiri freedom movement. Every staged incident reflects weakness, not strength, and confirms that India cannot win hearts in IIOJK through force or falsehoods.

Targeting Detainees to Stage Victories

Reports suggest that Pakistani nationals already held in Indian jails are at serious risk of being used to support this false narrative. DG ISPR Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry has stated that 723 Pakistani citizens are detained in India, with 56 in intelligence custody without any legal process.

There are growing fears that these detainees could be forced into fake confessions, killed unlawfully, and then presented as infiltrators to declare Operation Mahadev a “success.” This is a grave violation of human rights, a breach of international law, and an open display of state-sponsored deception.

Each fabricated encounter further damages India’s global image and reinforces its slide towards authoritarianism. The world has witnessed these tactics before, and every false operation adds to New Delhi’s isolation.

India’s Global Isolation Deepens

Despite loud media campaigns and aggressive rhetoric, India’s claims fail to convince the international community. No global forum, including the UN, SCO, or BRICS, has endorsed New Delhi’s allegations against Pakistan regarding IIOJK.

India’s habitual use of propaganda and victimhood has left it morally and diplomatically cornered. Each fake operation and media stunt adds another layer of mistrust and strengthens the evidence of occupation and rights abuses in IIOJK.

Freedom Cannot Be Defeated by Occupation

No matter how many operations India manufactures, the indigenous Kashmiri freedom struggle cannot be crushed. The people of IIOJK, despite decades of curfews, detentions, and state terror, remain resolute and unshaken. Pakistan continues to stand firmly with them, both politically and morally, in their legitimate struggle for self-determination.

History is clear: Propaganda can delay accountability, but it cannot change reality. The Modi regime’s cycle of lies, from Operation Sindoor to Operation Mahadev, will collapse under the weight of its own failures, just as every occupation in history has eventually failed.
