India’s Settler-Colonial Tactics in IIOJK Mirror Israel’s Occupation of Palestine
January 9, 2025India’s settler-colonial tactics in IIOJK, inspired by Israel’s occupation of Palestine, spark outrage and calls for global intervention.
Hurriyat organizations have vehemently condemned India’s alleged adoption of Israeli-style settler-colonial strategies in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), accusing the Modi regime of orchestrating land grabs, demographic changes, and apartheid-like policies. These measures, they argue, aim to suppress the region’s freedom movement and erase its Muslim identity.
In a series of statements from Srinagar, Hurriyat leaders highlighted alarming parallels between India’s occupation of IIOJK and Israel’s treatment of Palestine. According to the organizations, the two nations are coordinating their agendas to fortify their respective illegal occupations.
Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir accused the Modi government of emulating Israel’s tactics by seizing land under various pretexts to settle non-locals in IIOJK. “This is a blatant attempt to displace Kashmiris and manipulate the region’s demographics,” the group stated.
The Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party echoed similar concerns, describing the land grabs as a reflection of the Modi government’s colonial mindset. “These actions systematically deprive Kashmiris of their land and resources, resembling Israel’s displacement of Palestinians,” the party remarked.
Hurriyat organizations denounced the growing collaboration between India and Israel, calling it a “dangerous alliance” that jeopardizes global peace and human rights. The Jammu and Kashmir Muslim League asserted that the joint military and strategic agenda between the two countries represents a grave threat to justice worldwide.
“The Modi regime’s demographic manipulation and property seizures in IIOJK are stark reflections of Israeli apartheid policies in Palestine,” said the Muslim League. They linked India’s actions to a larger Hindutva-Zionist agenda aimed at erasing the Muslim identity of both Kashmir and Palestine.
Hurriyat leaders urged international bodies, including the United Nations and human rights organizations, to intervene and hold India accountable for its violations of international law. They warned that the continued silence of global powers would embolden both India and Israel to intensify their oppressive measures, escalating instability in South Asia and the Middle East.
Despite India’s tactics, the organizations affirmed that Kashmiris remain steadfast in their struggle for self-determination. They vowed to resist India’s settler-colonial ambitions, inspired by Israel’s occupation model, until their aspirations for freedom are realized.
