Indian troops have intensified their operations in IIOJK, conducting widespread cordon and search activities in several key districts, raising concerns about ongoing tensions in the region.

Indian security forces have initiated large-scale cordon and search operations (CASOs) across multiple regions in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). The ongoing operations are taking place in several districts, including Poonch, Rajouri, Udhampur, Kathua, Doda, Kishtwar, and Jammu.

According to Indian authorities, these search operations are taking place at 13 locations in the districts of Poonch and Rajouri, with additional searches spanning 18 locations in the higher reaches of Udhampur, Kathua, Doda, and Kishtwar. The operations are focused on specific areas, including Mohalla Qasba, Allapir, Jaalian, Mankote, Dera Ki Gali, and other surrounding regions in Poonch and Rajouri. In addition, parts of the Sunderbani and Nowshera sectors are also included in the sweep.

These extensive CASOs come amid heightened security in IIOJK, as Indian authorities continue their crackdown on suspected (militants) and individuals linked to separatist movements in the region. The operations aim to target and disrupt militant activities, but they also often lead to significant disruptions for local residents. Many reports suggest that these operations contribute to ongoing tensions and an atmosphere of fear in the region.

The search operations reflect the ongoing instability in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, where Indian troops have been engaged in continuous efforts to control the region’s volatile situation.
