Indian Government Must Stop Interfering into IIOJK Matters: Mufti

Mehbooba Mufti, the President of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), has extended her congratulations to the National Conference (NC) following its electoral victory in the occupied Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections and warned Indian government from involving into IIOJK affairs.

During a news conference in Srinagar, she emphasized the need for the Indian government to refrain from interfering in the impending NC-Congress alliance. Mufti stated that the Indian government should heed the decisive verdict from the Kashmir Assembly polls and avoid meddling in local governance.

She commended the people of Kashmir for their choice in prioritizing stability. “I congratulate the NC leadership for its spectacular win,” she said. This victory signifies the electorate’s desire for a robust government, particularly after the turmoil following August 5, 2019.

Mufti acknowledged the pressing issues that have plagued the region. A stable government is essential for addressing the myriad problems faced by the people. She recognized that the electorate was seeking more than just a hung assembly; they demanded a strong leadership to tackle their challenges.
