The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has raised serious concerns over the conditions faced by detained Hurriyat leaders, activists, and youth in various jails across India and occupied Jammu and Kashmir. The APHC emphasized the dire situation these detainees are enduring.

In a statement from Srinagar, APHC spokesperson Advocate Abdul Rashid Manhas shed light on the prolonged detention of Hurriyat leaders and activists. He noted that many are being held on baseless charges, denied essential medical care, and basic facilities, and are often not even brought to court for proper legal proceedings.

The APHC paid tribute to the determination and sacrifices of these Kashmiri detainees, including prominent figures such as APHC Chairman Masarrat Aalam Butt, Shabbir Ahmad Shah, Muhammad Yasin Malik, Aasiya Andrabi, and many others. The APHC asserted that the sacrifices made by these individuals would not be in vain and will continue to fuel the cause of Kashmiri self-determination.

The spokesperson condemned the Indian government’s use of agencies like the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and State Investigation Agency (SIA) to intimidate and harass Kashmiris. He asserted that these tactics, aimed at suppressing the Kashmiri people, would ultimately fail.

The APHC has urged the United Nations and the International Court of Justice to send investigative teams to Indian-illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir to assess the conditions of the detained Hurriyat leaders, activists, and youth. The APHC believes that international intervention is necessary to address the severe human rights violations taking place.

Additionally, the APHC spokesperson paid homage to the late Kashmiri leader Shaheed Shaikh Abdul Aziz on the 16th anniversary of his martyrdom. The APHC acknowledged his lifelong dedication to the Kashmir cause, reaffirming that his legacy continues to inspire the movement for self-determination in the region.

The APHC’s call to action highlights the ongoing struggles in Kashmir and the need for global awareness and intervention to ensure justice and human rights for the people of the region.
