As tensions continue in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), heightened security measures have been enforced for the upcoming visit of Indian Home Minister Amit Shah, with intense restrictions across the region.

Intensified restrictions remain in place across Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir for the second day in a row, ahead of a two-day visit by Indian Home Minister Amit Shah. These measures are designed to ensure the visit goes smoothly amidst ongoing tensions.

Local police in Srinagar confirmed the deployment of a “multi-tiered security framework,” which includes Indian police, army, and paramilitary forces. These forces are positioned at all major entry and exit points in the region. The authorities have taken these precautions to avoid any disruptions during the visit, which is set to begin today.

Amit Shah is expected to arrive in Srinagar around 6 pm today at the Technical Airport. Upon arrival, he will meet with the family of Deputy Superintendent of Police, Humayun Muzamil Bhat, before proceeding to Raj Bhawan. The road from the airport to Raj Bhawan, which passes through Rajbagh-TRC, has been fully sanitized and is under constant surveillance.

Security across the IIOJK, especially in Srinagar, has been significantly increased. Additional checkpoints have been established, and drones are being used for surveillance in critical areas. Quick Reaction Teams (QRTs) have been deployed at key locations to ensure rapid response in case of an emergency.

Officials have also been monitoring several routes leading to strategic locations. Drone surveillance is focusing on high-traffic areas and zones deemed to be of particular importance. To further strengthen security, police and paramilitary forces are conducting area domination exercises, while intensified frisking operations are underway at all key entry and exit points in Srinagar.

In addition to the physical security measures, both human and technical intelligence are being used to track any suspicious movements. Increased night patrols have been implemented to maintain vigilance during the evening hours.

Yesterday, Vidhi Kumar Birdi, the Inspector General of Police (IGP) for Kashmir Zone, led a joint security review at the Police Control Room (PCR) in Srinagar. During the meeting, he emphasized that Quick Reaction Teams are strategically placed throughout the region, prepared to respond to any potential threat. He also stated that equal focus was being given to both urban and rural areas to ensure overall security during the visit.

The authorities have made it clear that surprise checks, high-visibility patrols, and advanced technical surveillance will continue throughout Amit Shah’s visit. With all these measures in place, the region is under heightened security, with every effort made to avoid any incidents during this significant event.
