As road conditions continue to deteriorate across IIOJK, a series of tragic accidents within just 24 hours has left four people dead and more than 30 injured—raising serious concerns over public safety and infrastructure.

In the past 24 hours, Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir witnessed a disturbing wave of road accidents, leading to at least four deaths and injuries to over 30 individuals. The rise in mishaps has once again highlighted the poor state of road infrastructure and the urgent need for action.

One of the most tragic accidents occurred during the early hours near Banihal in the Ramban district. A Tata Mobile vehicle carrying two Bakarwal families from Rajouri’s Teryath area overturned and slammed into a railway bridge wall. The crash resulted in the death of one person and left nine others injured.

All the injured were initially rushed to the Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Banihal and later referred to Government Medical College (GMC) Islamabad for advanced care.

In a separate and equally heartbreaking incident, a minor tourist girl lost her life in Pahalgam, located in the Islamabad district of IIOJK. She was reportedly struck by an unidentified vehicle near the popular selfie point. Authorities confirmed that the girl was seriously injured and succumbed soon after the impact.

Another mishap in Sinthan Top, also in Islamabad district, involved a small Intra-v (Chota Hathi) vehicle, which veered off the road, injuring eight people. The victims were provided emergency medical aid and are currently under observation.

In Srinagar, two motorcyclists were critically injured following a collision near the Radio Kashmir flyover. Both riders were immediately taken to SMHS Hospital for emergency treatment.

A particularly tragic case was reported from Kullan Gund in Ganderbal, where a three-year-old boy, identified as Mohammad Hussain, was fatally struck by a vehicle. He was pronounced dead upon arrival at SDH Kangan.

Meanwhile, in the Duban area of Onagam in Bandipora, a tractor accident proved deadly. One person lost their life, while another sustained serious injuries after the vehicle plunged into a gorge.

Police officials have registered cases for all incidents and have begun investigations. However, locals are calling for urgent intervention, demanding better road maintenance, improved signage, and stricter traffic enforcement to prevent further tragedies.
