Congress President Criticizes Indian President Speech as Scripted by Modi Government

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has openly criticized Indian President Droupadi Murmu’s address to the joint session of Parliament, accusing Narendra Modi of seeking cheap applause through a speech filled with falsehoods. Kharge took to Twitter to express his discontent, stating: “Modi is trying to gain cheap applause by making the Honorable President speak lies, which the people of India have already rejected in the 2024 elections.”

Kharge asserted that the President’s speech was scripted by the Modi government as an attempt to reject the public mandate from the recent Lok Sabha elections. He accused PM Modi of ignoring the populace’s call for change and acting as if nothing had changed, despite the clear demand for a new direction from the people of India.

Highlighting several key issues, Kharge pointed out the NEET paper leak scandal, escalating food inflation, violence in Manipur, train accidents, and increasing atrocities against Dalits, tribals, and minorities in BJP-ruled states. He criticized the President’s address for failing to address these pressing concerns, which he identified as the five main issues facing the country.

Kharge also condemned the Modi government’s handling of national security, citing 2,262 attacks in occupied Indian-illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir over the past decade. These incidents resulted in the deaths of 363 civilians and 596 Indian troops, raising serious questions about the government’s approach to ensure peace and security in the region.
