Cogress Accuses BJP, RSS of Spreading Hatred and Dividing India
February 2, 2025In a fiery speech, Rahul Gandhi accused the BJP and RSS of fueling division and hatred in India, vowing to oppose their agenda while drawing comparisons between PM Modi and Arvind Kejriwal.
Rahul Gandhi, Leader of the Opposition in India and member of the Congress Party, recently condemned the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) for their role in spreading hatred across the country. Speaking at a public meeting in the Badli area of New Delhi, Gandhi accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of deliberately fostering division among the people to consolidate power and benefit industrialists like Adani and Ambani.
Gandhi went on to say that he would be willing to sacrifice his life but would never compromise with what he described as Hindu extremist parties—the BJP and RSS. He emphasized that India’s current political environment, under the influence of these ideologies, mirrors the ideology of those responsible for the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi, referring to the divisive forces within the country today.
The Congress leader also took aim at Prime Minister Modi’s policies, criticizing him for spreading hate and creating division among citizens. Gandhi specifically pointed to Modi’s alleged efforts to enrich a select few while sowing discord within the broader population.
In a controversial move, Rahul Gandhi also drew a parallel between Prime Minister Modi and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. He accused both leaders of being anti-reservation and anti-Dalit, arguing that both politicians aim to centralize power and maintain control within their own hands. According to Gandhi, there is little difference between the two, as both have shown a tendency to make empty promises and lie to the public.
In his speech, Gandhi painted Kejriwal as a “new version of Modi,” criticizing the Delhi Chief Minister for what he perceives as duplicity in his political behavior. He suggested that Kejriwal, like Modi, often speaks in grand terms but fails to deliver on his promises, undermining the interests of marginalized communities.
This strong criticism from the opposition leader highlights the growing tensions between political leaders in India as the country heads into a crucial election season. Gandhi’s statements reflect the deep divisions within the Indian political landscape, with the Congress Party positioning itself in opposition to both the BJP and its allies.
