China Never Consider India as an Equal Partner: USISPF President
May 7, 2024Mukesh Aghi, the president of the US-India Strategic and Partnership Forum (USISPF), has issued a stark warning, asserting that China will never regard India as an equal partner. Aghi says New Delhi divert resources from capital investment to defence spending, exacerbated by the ongoing buildup of troops along the border.
The India-China border standoff, which commenced in May 2020, continues to linger unresolved despite numerous rounds of dialogue between the two nations. Aghi, at the helm of a prominent US-based India-centric business and strategic group, has analyzed China’s stance and its implications for regional stability.
The standoff underscores the persistent tensions along the disputed border, fueling uncertainties and necessitating vigilance from both sides.
As the impasse persists, diplomatic efforts to defuse tensions and achieve a lasting resolution remain paramount. However, Aghi’s warning serves as a reminder of the complexities inherent in India-China relations and the challenges posed by China’s strategic ambitions in the region.
Amidst the backdrop of the border standoff, Aghi’s cautionary words highlight the need for India to pursue diplomatic channels to address the underlying issues fueling the dispute.
