Chemist’s Brutal Murder Sparks Outrage in Kathua
June 11, 2024A 35-year-old chemist, Amarjit Sharma, was found brutally murdered with his throat slit open near his home in Mela village, Hiranagar tehsil, late last night. The heinous crime has sparked widespread outrage among the local community.
Grieving relatives and neighbors staged a strong protest, blocking the highway and railway track for over four hours. Carrying Sharma’s body and chanting slogans, the protesters demanded the immediate arrest of the culprits, disrupting both traffic and train movement.
Police and civil officers intervened, assuring the community of a thorough investigation. They promised strong legal action against the criminals. A Special Investigating Team (SIT) has been constituted to probe the murder and arrest the accused.
