Brutality and Property Seizures Aims to Crush Resistance in IIOJK: APHC

India’s Brutal Campaign of Repression and Property Seizures Intensifies.

The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has once again condemned India’s brutal tactics in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), stressing the undeniable reality of the Kashmir dispute. In a statement issued in Srinagar, APHC spokesman Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas highlighted India’s relentless repression, warning that such actions only deepen regional instability and prolong the Kashmiri people’s suffering.

Minhas emphasized that the resolution of the Kashmir issue is essential for lasting peace in South Asia. He criticized India’s refusal to engage in meaningful dialogue, accusing New Delhi of perpetuating conflict through its obstinate and forceful approach. According to Minhas, India’s policies demonstrate its disregard for the legitimate aspirations of the Kashmiri people.

The APHC strongly condemned the BJP-led Indian government and its local administration in IIOJK under Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha. The spokesman denounced the intensifying cordon-and-search operations, house raids, and property confiscations carried out by notorious agencies like the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and the State Investigation Agency (SIA). These measures, he argued, amount to collective punishment aimed at breaking the will of the Kashmiri population.

A critical aspect of the repression involves systematic property seizures. The APHC highlighted the targeting of Hurriyat leaders, activists, and their families, as well as organizations like Jamaat-e-Islami. Homes, shops, and commercial complexes have been confiscated or demolished under flimsy pretexts, exacerbating the plight of already oppressed Kashmiris. These property seizures are not just acts of vindictiveness but deliberate attempts to dismantle the socio-economic fabric of Kashmiri society.

The APHC also condemned the human rights abuses inflicted during military operations, particularly during harsh winters. Women and children are reportedly subjected to humiliation and harassment, forced to endure freezing conditions during prolonged searches. These actions, the APHC stated, are designed to break the spirit of the Kashmiri people and suppress their demand for self-determination.

The APHC accused Modi’s Hindutva regime of using property seizures and demolitions as tools of political revenge. By targeting Kashmiris economically and psychologically, India seeks to erode their resolve and force them to abandon their struggle for a plebiscite, which India had committed to under United Nations resolutions but has since ignored.

Despite the Indian state’s oppressive measures, the APHC reaffirmed its commitment to the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination. The struggle, they stated, would continue regardless of the scale of repression, as Kashmiris remain steadfast in their pursuit of justice and freedom.
