APHC Urges International Action against India’s Occupation of Jammu & Kashmir
July 9, 2024The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has declared India’s occupation of Kashmir as a severe challenge to the international community. They emphasize the need for a resolution that aligns with UN resolutions and reflects the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
In a statement issued in Srinagar, APHC spokesman Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas affirmed that no amount of violence, arrests, or torture will deter Kashmiris from their quest for freedom. He highlighted the unwavering resolve of the Kashmiri people, who are prepared to face Indian aggression but will not capitulate. “The Kashmiri people are resolute in their struggle to liberate their homeland from Indian yoke, steadfastly resisting BJP/RSS attempts to impose Hindutva ideologies in IIOJK,” the APHC asserted.
Minh has condemned the Modi regime’s efforts to suppress the Kashmiris’ aspirations for freedom. He noted the unwavering commitment of the Kashmiri people to resist Indian occupation, affirming that they will continue their sacrifices until they achieve liberation from Indian control. The spokesman hailed the unity of the Kashmiri people in defeating India’s oppressive designs in occupied Jammu and Kashmir and highlighted their steadfast rejection of Indian hegemony. He portrayed the ongoing struggle as a pivotal chapter in Kashmir’s history, expressing optimism that the day of freedom is approaching.
The APHC also called on India to release all political prisoners, including Hurriyat leaders and youth, and appealed to the UN to intervene and resolve the Kashmir dispute according to its resolutions. Meanwhile, posters have surfaced in various locations in IIOJK, highlighting the Modi regime’s religious bias against Kashmiri Muslims. These posters assert that Kashmiris reject Hindutva-based communalism and criticize the regime for granting special privileges to Hindu pilgrims while imposing restrictions on Muslim religious practices. The posters condemned the curbs on Muslim congregations during significant religious events, including Muharram.
To conclude, the APHC’s statement underscores the resilience and determination of the Kashmiri people in their struggle for freedom. It calls for international intervention and adherence to UN resolutions to resolve the Kashmir dispute while highlighting the ongoing religious and political oppression faced by Kashmiris under Indian occupation.
