APHC Demands Action on IIOJK’s Political Prisoners and HRVs
September 9, 2024The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has issued a grave warning regarding the worsening plight of Kashmiri political leaders and youth imprisoned in Indian jails. They are demanding their immediate and unconditional release.
In a forceful statement, APHC Spokesman Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas criticized the Indian government’s harsh crackdown on Kashmiri voices. He argued that India’s use of brutal force will not extinguish the Kashmiris’ steadfast desire for self-determination.
Minhas highlighted that while the Hurriyat Conference is dedicated to achieving a peaceful resolution to the Kashmir dispute, the Indian government’s aggressive militarization and suppression of political dissent have brought the region to a perilous state.
The APHC has called urgently on the United Nations to step in and ensure the release of all unlawfully detained Kashmiris. They are also urging the international community to hold India accountable for its severe human rights violations in the region. According to the APHC, the global community must no longer ignore the ongoing atrocities in IIOJK.
The statement underscores the dire need for international intervention to address both the humanitarian crisis and the broader political conflict in IIOJK. The APHC believes that without external pressure, the situation will continue to deteriorate, exacerbating the suffering of those affected.
