A delegation from the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has raised alarming concerns about the ongoing human rights abuses in IIOJK during a key meeting with Malaysian leaders.

A delegation from the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) Azad Jammu and Kashmir chapter recently briefed Mohammad Azmi Abdul Hamid, the President of the Malaysian Consultative Council of Islamic Organizations (MAPIM), about the deteriorating human rights situation in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). The delegation, led by Hurriyat leader Altaf Hussain Wani, also included Advocate Parvaiz Ahmed, Shameem Shawl, Syed Faiz Naqshbandi, and Sheikh Abdul Mateen.

During the meeting, the APHC representatives detailed the severe human rights violations taking place in IIOJK, which include custodial killings, demographic changes, and widespread abuses by Indian occupying forces. The delegation emphasized that the Indian government’s claims of normalcy in the region are misleading and designed to deceive the international community, masking the ongoing atrocities faced by the Kashmiri population.

The delegation further informed Azmi about India’s Hindutva agenda, which has been systematically extended to IIOJK, particularly through the construction of temples aimed at altering the region’s Muslim identity. This agenda, they warned, seeks to undermine the cultural and religious fabric of the Kashmir Valley and impose demographic changes that will irreversibly alter its identity.

The Malaysian delegation expressed deep concern about these abuses and the efforts to change the region’s demographics and identity. They assured the APHC delegation that they would work to raise awareness about the Kashmir issue both nationally and internationally, advocating for the rights of the Kashmiri people and urging greater global attention to the situation.

This important briefing highlights the ongoing struggles of the people of IIOJK and the need for international advocacy to ensure their rights and dignity are upheld amidst continued Indian occupation.
