APHC Calls for International Intervention Amidst Indian Brutalities in IIOJK
May 7, 2024The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has issued a fervent appeal to the international community, urging them to take notice of the relentless Indian brutalities and the targeting of innocent Kashmiri youths under draconian laws, all aimed at suppressing their legitimate demand for the right to self-determination as acknowledged by the United Nations.
In a statement issued by APHC spokesman Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas in Srinagar, the organization implored the UN to compel India to address the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the resolutions passed by the international body, which pledge the Kashmiri people their political rights.
The APHC’s statement sheds light on the terrorizing tactics employed by Indian troops during cordon and search operations in the occupied territory, emphasizing that the Kashmiri populace remains steadfast in their resolve despite such oppressive measures. It emphasizes that the sacrifices made by Kashmiris will not be in vain, as they remain resolute in their struggle for freedom from India’s illegal occupation.
Furthermore, the statement highlights the plight of innocent civilians in regions like Poonch and Rajouri of the Pir Panjal area, where arbitrary arrests and raids on the homes of Hurriyat activists, who currently reside in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Pakistan, have become commonplace. These actions, the statement underscores, subject families to severe mental anguish and psychological torture.
The APHC reiterates the unwavering determination of the Kashmiri people to persevere in their quest for freedom until achieving their ultimate goal, emphasizing that the struggle will persist until its logical conclusion is reached.
Amidst escalating tensions and human rights violations in Kashmir, the APHC’s plea for international intervention underscores the urgent need for the global community to address the ongoing crisis and uphold the principles of justice, human rights, and self-determination for the Kashmiri people.
