APHC Appeals for Global Intervention Against Hindutva Oppression in IIOJK
April 14, 2025Amid rising human rights abuses and a tightening grip of Hindutva extremism, Kashmiris once again call upon the global conscience for justice and intervention.
The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has voiced deep concern over the growing human rights violations in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). The organization has urged the international community to step forward and shield the oppressed Kashmiri people from the expanding threat of Hindutva-driven oppression.
In a statement released from Srinagar, APHC spokesperson Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas emphasized that countries committed to peace and freedom have a moral responsibility to assist in resolving the Kashmir dispute. He called on global powers to break their silence and play a proactive role in ensuring justice for IIOJK.
The APHC asserted that IIOJK remains a flashpoint in South Asia and that true peace in the region cannot be achieved unless the issue is settled in accordance with United Nations resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
Paying heartfelt tribute to the Kashmiri youth who were recently martyred in Kulgam and Kishtwar by Indian forces, Minhas reaffirmed that their sacrifices will not be in vain. He assured that the struggle for freedom would continue until justice prevails.
The APHC also condemned the Indian government’s controversial Waqf Act, which Minhas argued aims to rob Muslims in IIOJK of their religious and property rights. He described the move as part of the broader Hindutva agenda spearheaded by the BJP and RSS, warning that their ideology is a danger not only to Muslims but to all minority communities, including Christians, Sikhs, Dalits, and Buddhists.
Minhas appealed to the international community to express solidarity with Kashmiris and other minorities across India who are being systematically targeted. He highlighted how their lands, properties, and identities are being erased under the aggressive policies of the Hindutva regime, enforced through military and police pressure.
According to the APHC, the Indian government in IIOJK is resorting to brutal and inhumane tactics to suppress the peaceful resistance movement. There is a deliberate attempt to frame Hurriyat leaders and Kashmiri youth in false cases, supported by propaganda and unjust detentions.
Despite these oppressive measures, Minhas made it clear that the BJP-led government will not succeed in crushing the spirit of the pro-freedom movement. He reaffirmed that no amount of intimidation or deceit can silence the voice of Kashmiris who are determined to achieve their right to self-determination.
He called upon international human rights organizations to increase pressure on India to respect the fundamental rights of the Kashmiri people—rights that have been denied for nearly eight decades.
