APHC-AJK Calls for Global Protests on August 5 Against Indian Aggression in IIOJK
July 31, 2024The All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter has declared August 5 as one of the most painful days in Kashmir’s recent history.
APHC-AJK leader Mahmood Ahmed Saghar, in a statement from Islamabad, condemned the Indian government’s actions on August 5, 2019. He highlighted that the Modi-led BJP government stripped Kashmiris of all political, social, religious, and basic rights, leading Kashmiris to observe the day as “Youm-e-Istehsal.”
Saghar criticized India’s decision to revoke Kashmir’s special status, calling it an attack on Kashmir’s unique identity. He stressed that this move was intended to alter the internationally recognized disputed status of Jammu and Kashmir.
He reaffirmed that Kashmiris will persist in their struggle until they achieve the right to self-determination. Saghar also condemned India’s oppressive policies, stating that they will not deter the Kashmiri people from securing their inalienable rights.
Additionally, he condemned the killing of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in an attack in Iran and expressed solidarity with the Palestinian people. APHC-AJK leaders Mushtaq Ahmed Butt and Muhammad Sultan Butt called on Kashmiris worldwide to hold protests on August 5 to raise awareness about Indian aggression and the suffering of the Kashmiri people.
