APHC Advocates for Kashmiri Self-Determination and Peaceful Resolution
March 23, 2024In Indian-administered Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyet Conference (APHC) has vehemently highlighted the prolonged oppression endured by the Kashmiri populace under the governance of New Delhi for the past 76 years. The APHC asserts that the people of Kashmir have faced relentless repression and political marginalization during this period.
Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas, the spokesperson for APHC, emphasized in a statement issued in Srinagar that the Kashmiri people have persistently fought for their fundamental right to self-determination, a right guaranteed to them by the United Nations. He underscored the historic nature of the Kashmiri struggle, noting the unparalleled sacrifices made by the populace in their quest for liberation from Indian control.
Minhas emphasized that despite the oppressive tactics employed by Indian forces, the spirit of freedom among Kashmiris remains unyielding, with a firm determination to see their struggle through to its rightful end. He criticized India’s obstinate stance and its failure to acknowledge the legitimate aspirations of the Kashmiri people, labelling it as a major impediment to resolving the Kashmir conflict peacefully.
The APHC representative urged India to heed the lessons of history, recognizing that the suppression of freedom movements through brute force is ultimately futile. He called upon India to abandon its rigid and colonial mindset and put an end to its illegal occupation of Jammu and Kashmir.
Furthermore, Minhas stressed that sustainable peace in the region can only be achieved through the resolution of the Kashmir dispute in accordance with UN resolutions. He appealed to the international community to take cognizance of the egregious human rights violations perpetrated by Indian forces in Indian-administered Kashmir and to exert pressure on India to address the longstanding issue in alignment with the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
In a separate development, APHC leaders Ghulam Nabi War and Abdul Samad Inqilabi conveyed warm regards to both the people and government of Pakistan on the occasion of Pakistan Day, celebrated on March 23. They emphasized the deep-rooted and enduring bond between the people of Kashmir and Pakistan, asserting that no external force could sever this intrinsic connection.
In summary, the APHC’s statements underscore the ongoing struggle of the Kashmiri people for their right to self-determination, the urgent need for a peaceful resolution to the Kashmir conflict, and the unwavering solidarity between Kashmiris and Pakistanis.
