AJK President Calls for Kashmiri Inclusion in the Dialogue
March 12, 2025President reassured the people of IIOJK that the global Kashmiri diaspora remains steadfast in their support for their just struggle and continues to play a vital role in advocating for their rights on international platforms.
The President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Barrister Sultan Mehmood Chaudhry, has emphasized that the Kashmiri people are the primary stakeholders in the Kashmir dispute and must be included in any future dialogue between Pakistan and India. He reaffirmed that the Kashmir issue cannot be resolved without the direct involvement of the people who have suffered decades of occupation and oppression.
Addressing a press conference in Muzaffarabad, Barrister Sultan condemned India’s ongoing state terrorism in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). He criticized the oppressive policies of the Narendra Modi-led government, which he described as a Hindu dictatorship disguised as a democracy. He further stated that religious minorities in India are also facing persecution under Modi’s Hindutva-driven regime, which promotes intolerance and extremist nationalism.
The AJK President highlighted India’s role in international terrorism, citing Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s remarks in the Canadian Parliament. Trudeau presented undeniable evidence of India’s involvement in cross-border assassinations and other acts of terrorism, further exposing India’s status as a global terrorist state. Barrister Sultan stated that India’s actions have been widely condemned on the international stage, proving its involvement in destabilizing other countries.
Expressing concern over India’s ongoing demographic engineering in IIOJK since the revocation of Article 370 on August 5, 2019, Barrister Sultan warned that India is attempting to erase the Kashmiri identity and fully annex the occupied region. However, he vowed that the people of Jammu and Kashmir will resist these nefarious designs and continue their struggle for self-determination. He emphasized that the Kashmiri people’s resilience and determination will ultimately lead to the failure of India’s occupation policies.
Barrister Sultan expressed confidence that his recent visits to the United Kingdom and the United States will have long-term positive effects in raising international awareness about the Kashmir cause. He reassured the people of IIOJK that the global Kashmiri diaspora remains steadfast in their support for their just struggle and continues to play a vital role in advocating for their rights on international platforms.
He concluded his address by asserting that the day is not far when IIOJK will be liberated from India’s brutal and illegal occupation. He called upon the international community to take decisive action against India’s state-sponsored terrorism and to uphold the rights of the Kashmiri people as enshrined in United Nations resolutions. The people of Kashmir remain resolute in their fight for justice, and their voices will not be silenced by oppression.
