AJK Asserts Strong Opposition to US-Induced Regional Imbalance
January 1, 2025Azad Jammu and Kashmir rejects US attempts to tilt regional power in India’s favor, reaffirming unwavering support for Pakistan’s defense and sovereignty.
In a bold move reflecting regional defiance, the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Legislative Assembly unanimously passed a resolution condemning the United States’ efforts to alter the power dynamics in South Asia to India’s benefit. The resolution, introduced by former Prime Minister Raja Muhammad Farooq Haider Khan, firmly rejected any foreign attempts to destabilize Pakistan’s security. Haider Khan emphasized that Pakistan’s missile program is purely defensive, aimed at countering India’s hostile posture.
Haider Khan accused the United States of being influenced by the Indian lobby, failing to comprehend Pakistan’s security concerns. His comments underscored the growing resentment towards foreign powers manipulating the region’s geopolitics, with Pakistan remaining the primary target of Indian aggression. He assured that the Kashmiri people stand united with Pakistan against any Indian aggression, reflecting the region’s unwavering support for its parent country’s defense.
Former Prime Minister Haider Khan went further to criticize the U.S. for positioning India as a regional police force, a move that undermines Pakistan’s strategic autonomy and security. He warned of the destructive impact of foreign interference, especially when it fuels internal sabotage within Pakistan. His remarks reflected a deep concern about the geopolitical forces at play, which he believes threaten the sovereignty of both Pakistan and the people of Kashmir.
Chaudhry Anwarul Haq, the current Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, echoed these sentiments, reaffirming the region’s commitment to supporting Pakistan’s defense efforts. Haq stressed the importance of missile technology and nuclear capabilities in safeguarding the country’s sovereignty. He noted that without a formidable defense system, nations could fall victim to external manipulation and destruction, citing the devastating fates of Libya, Syria, Lebanon, and Gaza as stark reminders.
In the discussion that followed the resolution, Haq warned that national security should remain above political debate, stressing the necessity of a unified stance on defense issues. He highlighted that missile technology and nuclear programs are central to ensuring the nation’s security and cannot be undermined by any political faction.
Leaders from various political parties, including Maulana Pir Muhammad Mazhar Saeed Shah and Mian Abdul Waheed, all voiced strong support for the resolution. They stressed the need for Pakistan to defend its honor, dignity, and territorial integrity, citing religious and moral obligations outlined in the Quran and the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
This resolution reinforces the firm stance of Azad Jammu and Kashmir in prioritizing national security, showcasing a unified political front against foreign influence and the ongoing threat from India.
