79th UN General Assembly Session: APHC Appeals to the UN on IIOJK

The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has issued a fervent appeal to the United Nations, urging immediate action to resolve the Kashmir dispute.

In a statement from Srinagar, APHC spokesman Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas highlighted the ongoing human rights crisis in Indian-illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). He called for the UN’s urgent attention during the 79th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York.

The APHC emphasizes that the UN has both a moral and legal obligation to address the Kashmir issue according to its own resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people. The organization condemned India’s efforts to change the demographics of the region and erase Kashmiri identity.

Minhas warned that any further inaction from the UN will only embolden the Modi government’s oppressive measures, leading to a continued cycle of violence in IIOJK. He stressed that lasting peace in South Asia depends on resolving the Kashmir conflict in accordance with UN resolutions.

Additionally, the APHC called on the international community to hold Modi and Indian troops accountable for alleged crimes against humanity in the region. They urged the UN to take steps to protect Kashmiris from ongoing Indian aggression.
