The recent deaths of three Kashmiris in Pooch have sent shockwaves through the international community, prompting a call for urgent intervention to address the dire situation faced by Kashmiris living in the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). The misery experienced by the Kashmiri population under the Modi administration has reached unprecedented levels, marked by severe genocidal tendencies and brutality at the hands of the Indian Army.

The Modi government, post the abrogation of Article 370, stands accused of breaking all records of atrocities as it attempts to suppress the Kashmiris’ legitimate struggle for the right to self-determination. The prevailing myth propagated by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) regarding normalcy in the region has been unequivocally shattered, leaving no one feeling secure in the IIOJK.

The people of IIOJK firmly believe that the Indian occupational forces are their true adversaries. Until India withdraws from the United Nations-declared disputed territory, the future of the Kashmiri population remains perilous. The narrative of safety has dissipated, replaced by a prevailing sense of fear and insecurity among the residents of IIOJK.

The recent incident involving the death of three Kashmiri Muslims under torture, after being picked up by the Indian Army for questioning regarding an encounter that claimed the lives of five Indian soldiers in the Poonch Attack, is a stark reminder of the brutality faced by civilians. The occupational Indian Army has been accused of venting its aggression on innocent civilians, employing tactics of collective punishment that exacerbate the suffering of the already oppressed Kashmiri population.

In light of these disturbing developments, the international community is urged to play a decisive role in saving the innocent people of IIOJK from the heinous crimes committed by Indian occupation forces. The situation calls for immediate intervention to pressure India into resolving the Kashmir issue in accordance with the United Nations’ assertions. The global stakeholders must recognize the urgency of the matter and act collectively to bring an end to the plight of the Kashmiri people.

As the world watches, it is imperative that international pressure be exerted to ensure the safety and well-being of the Kashmiri population. The deaths in Pooch serve as a grim reminder of the urgency required in addressing the humanitarian crisis unfolding in IIOJK. The international community must not turn a blind eye to the suffering of the Kashmiris and must take concerted efforts to bring about a resolution that respects their fundamental rights and aspirations.
