APHC Calls for Urgent Dialogue on Kashmir Dispute
March 16, 2025The Kashmir dispute remains a flashpoint in South Asia, demanding urgent international attention and a fair resolution that aligns with the aspirations of its people.
In Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has once again emphasized the need for a meaningful and result-oriented dialogue. The APHC urges the inclusion of Pakistan, India, and the genuine Kashmiri leadership to seek a lasting resolution to the long-standing conflict in the region.
APHC spokesperson Abdul Rashid Minhas, in a statement from Srinagar, reiterated that the Kashmir dispute should be settled based on the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolutions and the wishes of the Kashmiri people. He accused India of distorting historical facts and fabricating narratives to justify its continued occupation of IIOJK. He warned that India’s rigid stance and unrealistic policies only fuel further tensions in the region.
Minhas strongly denounced the continuous house arrest of senior APHC leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and the prolonged detention of Hurriyat leaders, along with thousands of Kashmiri youth. He stressed that India’s military oppression will never be able to crush the Kashmiris’ rightful struggle for freedom and self-determination.
The APHC reaffirmed that IIOJK remains an internationally recognized disputed territory. The organization highlighted that multiple United Nations resolutions affirm the right of Kashmiris to determine their political future. Minhas cautioned that as long as this fundamental right remains unfulfilled, achieving lasting peace and stability in the region will be impossible.
