Human Rights Crisis Deepens in IIOJK

The human rights situation in Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) has deteriorated sharply, with Indian troops committing daily war crimes without consequence. The region has seen a surge in violence since the revocation of Article 370 on August 5, 2019.

In the past three years, over 900 Kashmiris have been killed, 2,440 injured, and at least 24,500 arrested. These alarming figures highlight the severe repression faced by the Kashmiri people under Indian rule.

The Indian government has transformed IIOJK into the world’s most militarized zone, with nearly one million troops deployed across the territory. The use of probe agencies to intimidate and silence dissent has become a common tactic, further exacerbating the suffering of the Kashmiri people.

The Modi regime’s ongoing human rights abuses are aimed at crushing the Kashmiri struggle for freedom. These actions blatantly violate international human rights laws, underscoring the unresolved nature of the Kashmir dispute.

Observers and human rights advocates have called on the international community to take immediate action. They emphasize the need to address the worsening crisis and protect Kashmiris from the ongoing repression by the Modi regime.

The global community cannot ignore the atrocities being committed in IIOJK. It is time for world leaders to take a stand, demand accountability from the Indian government, and ensure that the people of Kashmir receive justice, peace, and the right to self-determination.
