JKCI and Hurriyat Reaffirm United Struggle for Self-determination and Freedom in IIOJK

In a strong display of unity, the Jammu and Kashmir Community International (JKCI) and All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) have pledged to continue their joint efforts to support the Kashmiris’ right to self-determination. The meeting showed that the struggle against India’s occupation of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) remains united and determined.

Clear Stand Against Indian Rule

Led by Chairman Ghulam Nabi Butt, a JKCI delegation met APHC-AJK Convener Ghulam Muhammad Safi in Islamabad. The leaders discussed the worsening situation in IIOJK, including political restrictions and human rights violations. The meeting was not symbolic; it was a direct message to India and the international community: the Kashmiri people have not accepted occupation and will continue to resist through all legal and peaceful means.

The APHC leadership reminded the world that their struggle is not illegal rather it is based on international law and United Nations resolutions. The movement, they said, is a call for justice that has been ignored for decades.

Ghulam Muhammad Safi’s Firm Message

Convener Ghulam Muhammad Safi welcomed the JKCI delegation and stated that the Hurriyat Conference speaks for the real wishes of the Kashmiri people. He said, “The right to self-determination is not a favour; it is a promise made in UN resolutions and by India’s own first Prime Minister, Nehru.”

He made it clear that only talks including India, Pakistan, and true Kashmiri leaders could lead to a fair solution. India’s one-sided steps, he added, are bound to fail because they ignore the people most affected: the Kashmiris.

Resistance is Lawful, Not Illegal

Safi also explained that under international law, people living under occupation have the right to resist. This includes political, diplomatic, and in some cases, armed resistance. He said that this is not extremism rather it is a response to occupation.

His remarks exposed the double standards of global powers that support resistance in some places but stay silent when it comes to Kashmir. He urged the world to stop looking away while India continues its harsh rule in IIOJK.

JKCI Pledges Full Support

The JKCI leadership, including General Secretary Raja Pervez Khan and Vice Chairman Lal Hussain Rajput, assured complete backing for Hurriyat’s efforts. Other members present, such as Syed Yousuf Hamdani and Sardar Siddique Khan, shared the same view.

They said the Kashmiri diaspora around the world will not stay silent. From Islamabad to London, and New York to Brussels, the voice for Kashmir will be raised with full strength.

Global Protests Planned in August

Senior Hurriyat figures, including Muhammad Farooq Rehmani and Advocate Pervaiz Ahmed, stressed the need for worldwide protests. They said that August will be a month of global action to highlight India’s serious violations in IIOJK.

These protests are meant to send a strong message to the world: India’s policies have failed, and the time for international action is now. The JKCI was asked to take a leading role in these protests and bring more attention to the suffering of the Kashmiri people.

India’s Harsh Policies Exposed

India claims peace in IIOJK, but the ground reality is different. People face curfews, arrests, and daily fear. Harsh laws like the Public Safety Act and Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act are used to jail people without charge.

Political leaders are arrested, the press is not free, and even children are detained. This is not democracy; it is suppression. India cannot hide the truth anymore. The world must see the real face of its rule in IIOJK.

The Cost of Global Silence

International bodies, including the United Nations, have issued statements but taken no real steps. This silence allows India to continue its occupation without pressure or punishment.

When rights are taken away and the world stays quiet, it becomes part of the problem. The people of IIOJK deserve more than sympathy; they need real support, and they need it now.

One Cause, One Struggle

The meeting between JKCI and APHC was not just a political event; it was a reminder that the Kashmiri struggle is united and growing. It is not divided, despite India’s efforts to break it. The support of the diaspora adds more strength to the movement.

Every meeting, protest, and campaign is a sign that Kashmiris will not give up. They are fighting for a right that was promised and then denied. Their demand is simple: the freedom to choose their future.

Conclusion: A Call for Justice

The joint commitment of JKCI and APHC is a strong answer to India’s actions in IIOJK. It proves that the freedom movement is alive and united. Despite years of pain, the people of IIOJK have not lost hope.

They want justice, not favours. They want freedom, not fear. And until their voice is heard and their right is respected, they will continue to resist. The world must now decide: will it stand with the oppressed, or keep watching in silence?
